Summary:Yes maybe you will say other manufacturer can make 10+20 wear plate, that is because they reduce Cr content and brittleness was decreased then, but wear resistance is also weakened, so 20mm hardfacing layer can only work same as our 14mm hardfacing layer.

Some of our clients come to us for 10 (A36) +20 (Bi-Metallic) bimetallic wear resistant steel plate at the beginning, but finally we persuade them to change thickness to get a better working performance, thickness we recommend is 20+10 (A36+hardfacing layer), 16+14 or 18+12.

Then, do you know why 10( similar to A-36 steel)  +20 (Hard wear resistant) wear resistant plate is not suggested to use ?

Commonly wear plate hardfacing layer will peel off if it is thicker than the base plate. 20mm hardfacing layer is thick enough, it has to suffer big deformation if base plate is only 10mm. Wear plate is hard and has high brittleness, hardfacing layer will peel off after rolling process.

Please feel free to contact us for details if you have any questions.
