Fan impeller damage have two types, impeller abrasive wear and scale formation. Dry dust removal device can remove the majority of large particles in the dust, but a small number of large particles and tiny dust particles will through the fan with high temperature, high speed gas and cause continuous scouring to the fan impeller, if things go on like this, knife edge abrasive will be found in the blade outlet. We will have unbalanced impeller because of this irregular abrasive wear. In addition, the fan impeller surface is easily oxidized at high temperature, and produces very thick oxide coating, the binding force between oxide coating and impeller surface is not uniform, it will peel off automatically caused by vibration or centrifugal force, this is the main reason for the imbalance of fan impeller.

The most effective way to solve for impeller abrasive wear is to improve wear resistance of it. And currently, the relatively mature method is hardfacing technology, it produce a high hardness and high wear resistance layer on the fan impeller surface, it not only can reduce the abrasive wear, also can also reduce imbalance caused by oxidation layer.
