Now China has become the world unique welding material consumption country, domestic welding materials industry has been developing rapidly during the past 20 years, foreign welding industries also come and compete for the welding market by exporting, providing technical services and set up factories in China. In the face of strong foreign famous enterprises, most of the  domestic consumables enterprises are at a disadvantage in the competition, so we must pay attention to the future development of national welding industry .

There is no accurate statistics can show welding structure proportion of all the countries in the world. The English version world welding news issued by Japan in 2004 made estimates on some countries and regions welding material demand (not production). It shows that Europe, North America (American and Canada), Japan and other developed countries,the consumption of welding rod ratio is lower than 20%, Europe and North America gas protection welding wire consumption is greater than 50%, also Japan and South Korea has a large flux cored wire consumption as they all ranked first in the shipbuilding industry.

In recent years, there was a bigger adjustment of Chinese welding product structure, the highlight is the gas protection welding wire proportional rise, and a decline in the proportion of electrode. This shows that product structure is not determined by welding material factory production capacity, but the market demand, what they should do is to gradually adjust the production structure of products with the market demand changes.
