Raw materials vertical mill liner plate wear fast and solutions

Raw material grinding system block plate in clinker production line wear fast and has very short lifetime after several years of use, equipment accidents are common to see, connecting bolts exposed and strength decreased, block steel plate was pushed over by the running materials.

It was found that nozzle ring cover plate is the main wear position. Block plate was fixed on the millstones by blots, and there was 15mm thickness between bolt hole inner wall and outer wall. Some materials were thrown to the nozzle ring under the centrifugal force, most of the materials will go into the mill storage bin through the nozzle ring, so in the block lining plate is easy to wear, and fixed bolts will be exposed.

To solve this problem, we decided to use wear resistant steel plate to make nozzle ring cover, about 170mm wide, wear resistant steel plate is welded on the block plate, we also put reinforce panel on the front cover plate to avoid material extrusion deformation.

From the field inspection, there was no abrasive wear on the block steel plate, and we can replace reinforce panel during peak time for mill machine. Practice proved that, wear resisting steel plate in vertical mill production is simple and effective.
