Metal parts abrasive wear and solutions

Abrasive wear occurs when two metal parts move over each other, physical, chemical and mechanical properties of the object surface will changes,and therefore changed their original geometry, size and quality, we call this the abrasive wear.

The development of abrasive wear falls into three stages, the initial abrasive wear stage, stable abrasive wear stage and severe abrasive wear stage. Initial abrasive wear also known as running - in period, small contact area and high surface pressure at the beginning due to a poor contact between two frictions, it was soon wear out and gradually changing over to a stable abrasive wear stage as the working hours are increased. At this stage, the abrasive wear rate is basically constant, and the main phase of metal parts, the length of time, can be used as the evaluation of the merits of wear resistance materials. The period represents a test for different wear resistant materials quality.
Later, physical and chemical properties of the object surface has changed significantly increased with the machine running time, the surface quality of parts increased and caused severe vibration, the metal parts went into severe abrasive wear stage, machinery and equipment scrapped sooner due to the deterioration of machinery and equipment operating conditions.
