We use welding to improve the surface properties of steel parts,the hardfacing layer will generally contain high alloy elements, while we use carbon steel or low-alloy steel as the matrix. So we need to pay attention to the different thermal expansion and phase-transition temperature to avoid excessive thermal stress and structural stress during the hardfacing process. In addition, we also need to reduce the carbon content and control fusion layer because the alloy composition of deposited metal will be diluted yb the base metal excessively.

Thermal spraying, it has coating material particles sprayed on the metal parts surface to form a wear and corrosion resistant protection layer. Thermal spraying methods are: arc spraying, flame spraying and plasma spraying. Coating materials can be metals,also  can be non metals, such as glass, ceramics etc. Plasma spraying, arc spraying, flame spraying technology are widely used in anti-wear projects in recent years.
