Specific differences and conversion between Brinell (HB)and Rockwell (HRC) hardness
Hardness of YaoYu wear resistant steel plate is HRC 58-62
Hardness is a performance index to measure whether a material is hard or soft . There are many methods to test hardness, of course, the principle is different, thus, the measured hardness values and meanings are not exactly the same. The most frequently used method is the static load indentation hardness test, namely Brinell hardness (HB), Rockwell hardness (HRA,HRB,HRC),Vickers hardness (HV), etc. And, hardness is not a simple physical quantity, but a comprehensive performance index that reflect elasticity, plasticity, strength and toughness.
1.HRC is C pattern readings for Rockwell hardness
2.HRC and HB is widely used in production
3.applicable scope of HRC HRC 20--67, equivalent to HB225--650
We use A pattern if the hardness is higher than this range
We use B pattern if the hardness is higher than this range
Brinell hardness has a limit, it can not higher than HB 650
Hardness test is the most simple method in mechanical performance test. It has been found that there is a corresponding relationship among various hardness value, also between strength value and hardness value. Because the hardness value is determined by the initial plastic deformation resistance and continue to plastic deformation resistance, the higher the strength of materials, the higher plastic deformation resistance, the high hardness it is.
